Gift Idea: Prayer Journal

One of my favorite past times is journaling; another is scrapbooking. I often combine the two so I can create keepsakes for friends and family. Within the past few years, I have enjoy creating prayer journals that track a year of prayers for friends. I scrapbook news articles, goals, text messages (copied via handwriting), things I find online, and my prayers for them each week. I add in some color and flair for visual fun. Then I write out prayer summaries of how I have been praying for them during that day or for the week.

The fun of this gift that you can start creating now to have ready for the holidays is that you decide that you want to do with it. There is no right or wrong way to do it!

When creating the journals, I simply buy a notebook at a craft store and then use a variety of media inside of it. Some days, it’s scrapbook paper and other days it’s sticky notes. Some days I write until my hand is tired; others I just include a journaling sticker filled with key points inside it.

Each time I have given these to someone, they have loved that I took time to think about them and give them something from my heart.
